Mary Jane Hollis
Mary Jane Hollis, 94, of Chester Hill, PA died on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at her home.
Born on December 23, 1930, in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Albert Hollabaugh & Mabel Ruth (Vaughn) Hollabaugh. She married Martin J. Hollis, Jr. on December 15, 1955 in Philipsburg, PA; he preceded her in death on October 8, 1998.
Mary Jane was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Osceola Mills, PA, where she was a member of the Rosary Society; a member of VFW Auxiliary Post # 5020 in Osceola Mills, PA and former President of District 22 VFW; a member of Osceola Mills Historical Foundation; a member of Houtzdale Lions Club; and Past President of Chester Hill Borough.
She was retired from the former Bell Telephone in Clearfield, PA. And was a graduate of the former Morris Township High School.
Mary Jane was an avid fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers. She was a former volunteer at Lifeline.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Jane was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Hollis; a sister, Sandra Minor; and two brothers, John “Jack” Hollabaugh Jr. and Richard “Dick” Hollabaugh.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy L. Jones of Philipsburg, PA and Lori J. Prestash & her husband George Prestash, III of Philipsburg, PA; a son, Martin J. Hollis, III of Osceola Mills, PA; a sister, Bernice Lanich & her husband Bruce of Clearfield, PA; six grandchildren, Melinda Clark & her husband Chad, Renee Raymond & her husband Ronald, George Prestash IV, Joshua R. Jones, Catlyn Carr & her husband Sean and Michael Harrison; and four great-grandchildren, Kali, Cam, Grace and Ellen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Parish in Osceola Mills, PA with Rev. Father Jonathan Schmolt celebrant. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Funeral Home.
