Wilford D. Wilkes
Wilford D. Wilkes, 86, of Houtzdale, PA died on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Windy Hill Village, PSL, in Philipsburg, PA.
Born on May 10, 1935 in Philipsburg, PA he was the son of the late Luther and Helen (Truax) Wilkes. He married Constance “Connie” (McQuillen) Wilkes on August 1, 1954 at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Philipsburg, PA: she survives at home.
He was a member of the Brisbin Baptist Church which he served as Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher.
Wilford was a broadcast engineer and served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He was a 1953 graduate of the Moshannon Valley High School, attended Penn State University and received his FCC License and started with his father Wilkes TV and Radio Shop. He owned and operated the Europena Auto Radios for over fifty years. He retired from Coroner Stone TV.
He loved English Bulldogs, motor cycles and sports cars.
Along with his wide he is survived by: one daughter, Kathy Fahr & her husband Kevin of Osceola Mills, PA; two sons, Kim Allen Wilkes & his wife Susan of Belleville, PA and Rocky Wilkes & his wife Michelle of DuBois, PA; five grandchildren, Crystal Wilkes, Time Wilkes & his wife Elisha, Michelle Kovatch & her husband John, Morgan Viard & her husband Logan and Lacey Sarvis & her husband Kyle; and six great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Madison, Colton, Emberly, Fern and Amara.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA: with Pastor Mark Melhorn officiating. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Brisbin, PA.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to funeral time at the funeral home.
