D. Kay Vaughn
D. Kay Vaughn, 80, of Sandy Ridge, PA died on Monday, April 22, 2024 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
Born on March 1, 1944 in Knox, PA, she was the daughter of the late William H. Kimbrel & Dorothy (Sterner) Lotz. She married Clair T. Vaughn on June, 29, 1963 in Philipsburg, PA; he survives at home.
Kay was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Sandy Ridge, PA. Kay was a former Sunday School Teacher, a member of OES in Altoona , PA for 50 years, and a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America for 20 years.
She was retired as a Partner/Owner of both Sears Merchant Store in Tyrone, PA and Vaughn’s Market in Sandy Ridge, PA. And was a 1962 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and five brothers.
In addition to her husband, Kay is survived by, two sons, Thomas G. Vaughn & his wife Kathy of Sandy Ridge, PA and Jeffrey T. Vaughn & his wife Jolene of Sandy Ridge, PA; two granddaughters, Malerie Mayes and Rachelle Patterson; three grandsons, Grayson Michael Vaughn, Joseph Vaughn and John Vaughn; three great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
There will be a private funeral service with no public visitation. Burial will be at Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg, PA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, in Osceola Mills, PA.
