Stephen Sidorick, Jr.
Stephen Sidorick, Jr. of West Decatur, PA went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 6th, 2023. His death occurred at Mount Nittany Medical Center from a sudden and unexpected heart attack. His wife of 25 years, Marian (Satur) Sidorick was with him at the time of his passing. Stephen was a 1980 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School, a 1984 graduate of Lock Haven University and had a lifelong career in the construction industry.
Stephen was born in Philipsburg on April 11, 1962, the son of the late Stephen Sidorick, Sr. and Marion (Socoski) Sidorick of Osceola Mills, PA. In addition to his wife, Stephen is survived by a son, Micah S. Sidorick, a step daughter Katie (Giancarlos Urica) Reiter and their son Oleksiy Urcia, and step son Nick (June Garcia) Reiter. He is also survived by 3 brothers: Gregory (Bridgett) Sidorick, Mark Sidorick, and Nicholas (Maureen) Sidorick. Stephen loved his large family which had numerous nieces and nephews that were all very special to him.
At the age of 12 Stephen oversaw a home video production of a bank robbery, featuring his brothers, which he edited in the basement dark room he built in the family home. This was an early example of the visionary creativity that was made evident in his life and work. Stephen took on life at 110%, but being a perfectionist, there was always more to do and something to finish. He never turned down the opportunity for an adventure as he loved meeting new people, experiencing different places the chance to continually learn. In his last adventure he applied his visionary talents to bring the long empty Rush Consolidated Elementary School (AKA Cowtail University) back to life as beautiful new housing. Saving this beloved structure is a proud legacy he left for the Osceola Mills community.
Stephen’s pride ran deepest for his son Micah who gave him the gift of parenthood and the joy of experiencing the pride for one’s child. He was given another gift with the birth of his first grandchild, Oleksiy, who brought him daily delight. In Stephen’s last days he was able to do a cross country motorcycle ride to Sturgis with his brother Greg, satisfying a bucket list item. Throughout his life Stephen was grateful for the faith he had in his Lord, giving thanks for the good times and seeking support with life’s challenges.
