Shirley Jean Sankey
Shirley Jean Sankey, 85, of Philipsburg, PA, formerly of Osceola Mills, PA died on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in her home.
Born on September 30, 1939 in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late John & Martha (Davey) Carter. She married Thomas Richard Sankey on October 21, 1960 in Virginia. He survives at home.
She was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church, a former member of the quilter’s club of the church, and a former member of the Osceola Mills Civic Club.
Shirley was retired from Osceola Mills CNB Bank as the branch manager and had worked for Dr. William Harkins.
She graduated from the former Philipsburg High School class of 1957.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Carter.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Tally & her husband Richard of Smithfield, VA, and Lori Baxter & her husband Tork of Philipsburg, PA; two sons, Thomas Sankey & his companion Maryjane Larmon of Sharpsville, PA, and Scott Sankey & his wife Kristy of Clearfield, PA; a sister, Dolores Lidgett of Munson, PA; nine grandchildren, Dr. Dana Baxter & her husband William Popojas, Tyler Baxter & his wife Jamie, Danielle Reifer, Michael Reifer & his wife Kathryn, Lindsey Shockley & her husband Jacob, Kailynn Sankey, Reese Sankey, Toree Sankey, and Charlee Sankey; and two great-grandchildren, Trey Baxter and Cameron Reifer.
The funeral service will be Monday, November 25, 2024 at 12 noon at the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church. Reverend Tim Reichard, a nephew of the deceased, and Reverend Laura Kyler will officiate. Friends will be received on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the church.
Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
