Joseph C. Ralston, Sr.
Joseph C. Ralston, Sr., 76, of Philipsburg, PA died on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.
Born on August 29, 1938 in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Reuben & Catherine (Cambior) Ralson. He married Mary Elizabeth (Perks) Wood-Ralston in Philipsburg, PA, who resides at home.
Mr. Ralston was a member of the B.P.O. Elks #1173 in Philipsburg, PA, the AMVETS, and the American Legion in Philipsburg, PA. He was a Retired Heavy Equipment Operator and he had received his GED.
Along with his parents, Mr. Ralston was preceded in death by: a son, Joseph C. Ralston, Jr.; a sister, Mary Ellen Coughran & her husband Robert; and a step- son, William Wood.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, June Ralston-Weidner & her husband Fred Weidner of North East, MD and Donna Ralston-Smolko & her husband James Smolko of Erie, PA; a son, John Ralston of Pittsburgh, PA; two step-sons, Daniel Wood & his wife Becky of Flemington, PA and James Wood & his wife Dottie of Philipsburg, PA; two sisters, Anna Christian of North Carolina and Patricia Hornlein & her husband Edward of East Brunswick, NJ; two brothers, William Ralston & his wife Carol of East Brunswick, NJ and James Ralston & his wife Susan of Toms River, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Wood of Pine Grove Mills, PA; and numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and a Great-Great Grandchild.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, PA, with Rev. W. Dean Krause officiating. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brisbin, PA.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 and on Wednesday from 10:00 until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
