James D. Moore, Sr.
James D. Moore, Sr., 82, of Houtzdale, PA died on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at his home.
Born on November 10, 1942 in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late George A. Moore & Isabel (Gaines) Moore. He married Peggy J. Corrigan on August 14, 1964, in West Decatur, PA; she survives at home.
He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
James was a member of the Madera United Methodist Church.
He was a retired Supervisor for HRI in State College, PA. And had achieved his GED.
James was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Moore and Nancy Moore; and four brothers, Donald Gaines, Ross Moore, Larry Moore and Ronald Moore.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by a daughter, Rhonda K. Travis & her husband Mark of Houtzdale, PA; three sons, Gregory L. Moore & his fiancee Joann of Osceola Mills, PA, Brian J. Moore, Sr. & his wife Marjorie of Madera, PA and James D. Moore, Jr. of Clearfield, PA; three sisters, Margaret German of Pine Glen, PA, Shirley Askey of Grassflat, PA and Lois Moore of Grassflat, PA; a brother, George Moore of Cherry Tree, PA; five grandchildren, Sean Moore & his wife Danielle, Tiffany Beirlair & her husband Michael, Brian Moore, Jr. & wife Brandy, Trevor Travis and Tyler Travis; and four great-grandchildren, Abigail Beirlair, Elise Beirlair, Gunnar Moore and Hattie Moore.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills. PA. Rev. Robert Ford will officiate. Burial will be at Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg, PA.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard at the cemetery.
