Charles E. “Fuzz” Moore
Charles E. “Fuzz” Moore, 92, of State College, PA, formerly of Philipsburg and Sandy Ridge, died on Monday, June 19, 2023, Embassy of Hearthside, State College, PA. Born on March 26, 1931 in Sandy Ridge, PA, he was the son of the late Earl D. & Sarah E. (Arnold) Moore.
Charles was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, formerly a member of Mt. Top Fire Company where he was the Chief of fire police and formerly a forest fire warden.
He was a retired Security Officer for Truhart Security Company. Charles was also formerly an Osceola Mills, Police Officer, a Rush Township Constable, and a Philipsburg Cigar Plant Supervisor. And he achieved his GED.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard Moore and Robert Moore.
Charles is survived by a daughter, Cindy Smith & her husband Rock of Sandy Ridge, PA; three sons, Charles Moore & his wife Mary of Sneads Ferry, NC, John Moore & his wife Valerie of Sandy Ridge, PA, and Mark Moore and his wife Shellie of Franklin, PA; a brother, Delbert L. Moore & his wife Mary of Philipsburg, PA; eight grandchildren, Rock Richard Smith II, Amanda Fanning, Justin Moore, Rian Bender-Lucas, Colton Moore, Kaleigh Gustafson, Kortnie White and Kassity Moore; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter, Ky, Kinley, Max, Sydney, Rhys, Emmalyn and Jake; and by a former wife, Dolly Greenawalt of Tyrone, PA.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at the convenience of the family, with Pastor Gloria Montgomery officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
