Joan L. Lansberry
Joan L. Lansberry, 77, of Philipsburg, PA, died on Friday, August 2, 2024 at her home.
Born on July 13, 1947, in McKeesport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Irene (Bush) Poorman. She married John W. Lansberry Sr. on September 27, 1986 in Morgan Run; he preceded her in death on December 26, 2010.
Joan was a member of the former Ohio United Methodist Church in rural Osceola Mills, PA and Columbia Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary in Osceola Mills, PA. She was a Volunteer Chaplain at Westminster Place at Windy Hill Village where she was also in charge of bingo and was a wonderful friend to all her neighbors.
She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Joan was preceded in death by six sisters, Thelma Poorman, Uyvette Poorman, Olive Custer, Alemeda Miller, Naomi Kreiser and Dolly Boisjolie; and three brothers, Clair, Charles and Darl Poorman.
She is survived by four daughters, Anna M. Wriglesworth of Johnstown, PA, Irene M. Clark of Franklin, TN, Sherry L. Kephart & her husband Brian Kephart, Sr. of Red Lion, PA, and Tonya E. Foster & her husband Dennis of Kylertown, PA; a son, John W. Lansberry, Jr. & his wife Kim of Woodland, PA; three sisters, Donna Medzie & her husband Charles of Allport, PA, Phyllis Coyne of Osceola Mills, PA, and Dorothy Brownfield & her husband James of Glassport, PA; a brother, Francis O. Poorman of Monongahela, PA; sixteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Heath funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills, PA. Pastor Don Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Summit Hill Cemetery in Morrisdale, PA.
Visitation will be Wednesday 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
