Larry W. Kanour, Sr.
Larry W. Kanour, Sr., 83, of Sandy Ridge, PA, died on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
Born on December 6, 1940, in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Clifford & Marjorie (Koon) Kanour. He married Carolyn L. Harner on August 7,1965 in Sandy Ridge, PA; she survives at home.
Larry was of the Christian Faith. He was a member of Osceola Mills Lodge #515 F & A M.
He was retired as a Land Agent for River Hill Coal Co. in Kylertown, PA. And was a 1959 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Larry W. Kanour, Jr.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Tanya Lee Heikens & her husband Jon of Show Low, AZ; a son, Craig A. Kanour of Sandy Ridge, PA; two sisters, Georgia Dixon & her husband Robert of Michigan and Paula Shimmel & her husband Dave of Montoursville, PA; two brothers, Ronald Kanour & his wife Lelah of Apex, NC and Denny Kanour of Osceola Mills, PA; three grandchildren, Craig A. Kanour, Corrin Kanour and Jordan L. Heikens; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Kanour & Hailee Kanour.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills, PA. Rev. Dr. Mary Jo Bruinooge will officiate. Burial will be at Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
