Michael E. Hurtack, Sr.
Michael E. Hurtack Sr.,73 of Sandy Ridge, PA passed away Thursday February 9, 2012 at Altoona Regional Health Systems, Altoona Hospital Campus in Altoona, PA.
Born October 15, 1938 in Morris Township, PA he was the son of the late Michael and Pauline (Pintus) Hurtack. His former wife was Donna (Gilson) Hurtack Shaw of Osceola Mills, PA.
He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Hawk Run,PA and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a retired truck driver and graduated from the former Morris Township High School class of 1956.
His parents and a daughter Dawn Michele Hurtack preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons Clifton M. Gilson and his wife Lisa of Sandy Ridge, PA, Michael E. Hurtack, Jr. and his wife Tracey of Osceola Mills, PA, and Patrick A. Hurtack of Osceola Mills, PA; four grandchildren Ryan Hurtack and his wife Samantha, Matthew Hurtack, Aaron Gilson and Clifton B. Gilson; and two great-grandchildren; one sister Eleanor Kennard of Clearfield, PA; and two brothers Nicholas Hurtack and his wife Margaret of Philipsburg, PA, and Eugene Hurtack of Philipsburg, PA.
Visitation will be Monday February 13, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA, a Panachida will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heath Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Father Peter Benyo. Burial will be at the St. John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery in Hawk Run, PA with graveside military honors accorded by the Osceola Mills honor guard.
