Dorothy M. “Tatters” Hummel
Dorothy M. “Tatters” Hummel, 85, of Osceola Mills, PA and formerly of Philipsburg, PA died on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at her home.
Born on June 20, 1928 in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late William & Martha (Bernard) Sallurday. She was married to Charles A. Hummel, who preceded her in death on July 11, 1978.
Mrs. Hummel was a member of the Chapel of the Good Shepherd in Hawk Run, PA, the Daughters of the King Guild of the church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW 5020 in Osceola Mills, PA. She had worked for Charles Navasky & Co. in Philipsburg, PA and was a homemaker.
In addition to her Parents and Husband, she was preceded in death by: two sisters, Delores Houston and Sarah Little; and four brothers, William Sallurday, Jr., Robert Sallurday, Jack Sallurday and Kenneth Sallurday.
Mrs. Hummel is survived by: four daughters, Barbara Hubler of Philipsburg, PA, Carol Haddix & her husband Jim of Butler, PA, Wanda Kennedy & her husband Jerry of Osceola Mills, PA, Tammy Ingram & her husband Robert of Curwensville, PA; a son, Charles “Chip” Milliron and his wife Barbara of Osceola Mills, PA; a sister, Thelma McDonald of Philipsburg, PA; ten grandchildren, Careena Timblin, Tawnya Gallaher, Buffie Dunbar, Shasta Wilkinson, Dana Milliron, Scott Milliron, Matthew Kennedy, Mark Kennedy, Charleigh Ingram and Bailey Ingram; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA; with Rev. Clifford Johnston and Rev. William Walker officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
