Eleanor J. Hinchliffe, 95, of Houtzdale, PA, died on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born on August 26, 1930 in Osceola Mills, PA, Eleanor was the daughter of the late John Slabon & Helen (Earnest) Slabon. She married James Eric Hinchliffe on December 25, 1951 in Philipsburg, PA. James preceded Eleanor in death on August 1, 2014.
Eleanor was a member of the Faith United Lutheran Church in Houtzdale, PA.
She was a homemaker.
Eleanor was a 1949 graduate from the Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by six sisters, Frances Gmerek, Elizabeth Gavlak, Mary Messenlehner, Helen Slabon, Josephine Jackson, and Helen Mae Wallwork; and four brothers, Adam Slabon, Joseph Slabon, John Slabon, and Ernest Slabon.
Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Joyce Ann Beres & her husband Chester of Philipsburg, PA, and Rita Stodart & her husband Mark of Houtzdale, PA; a son, Mark Hinchliffe & his wife Cindy of Woodland, PA; eight grandchildren, Craig Stodart, Ben Stodart, Heidi Dugan, Adam Bires, Kirk Bires, Erica Hinchliffe, James Hinchliffe, and Joseph Hinchliffe; and nine great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Interment will be at Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
