Dennis M. Hayward
Dennis M. Hayward of Brisbin, PA passed away at home on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, after a long battle with Leukemia.
Born August 10, 1950, in Brisbin, he was the son of the late William and Anna (Amberick) Hayward. Dennis was a 1968 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School.
On September 18, 1976, at the Brisbin First Church of God, he wed Linda Kushner, wife of 48 years, who survives in Brisbin.
He was employed by Giant Foods in State College for over 22 years. Prior to that he also worked at Lee Metal in Philipsburg, D & M Manufacturing in Ashland, & Navaskey’s in Philipsburg. He was also a familiar face to all Brisbin, delivering The Progress newspaper to the town for 30 years.
He was a lifelong member of Brisbin First Church of God. Dennis was loved by many. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In his spare time, he loved to be outside.
In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by his daughters Mrs. Denise (Michael) Potter of Clearfield, PA & Mrs. Amy (Jarret) Testerman of Elizabethtown, PA; his sisters Rosalind Harris of Philipsburg and Kay Bonsell of Tyrone; and six grandchildren including MaKenzie and Jacob Potter of Clearfield; Carter, Brantley, Isabelle and Maverick Testerman of Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Doris Hallman, Florence Stine, Ester Locke, Betty Yarger, Evelyn Lowe, Mildred Haney (brother-in-law George Haney) and Margret Bainey (and brother-in-law James Bainey); brother-in-law Harold Harris and brother-in-law “Woody” Bonsell; and brothers Robert Hayward, Roger Hayward, and Larry Hayward. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Ann Kushner of Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received for the viewing on Friday, May 23 from 6-8pm at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, Osceola Mills. Friends will also be received from 10-11am on Saturday, May 24 with the funeral at 11am at the funeral home. Reverend Mark Melhorn will officiate the service. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin, PA
