Andrew Hajzak
Andrew Hajzak, 98, of Philipsburg, PA, died on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Maybrook Hills Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Altoona, PA.
Born on July 17, 1925, in Osceola Mills, PA, he was the son of the late Michael & Anna (Palochko) Hajzak. On September 7, 1946, in Osceola Mills, PA, he married Dolores M. Causer, who survives at home. She was the love of his life for 77 years.
He was of the Christian faith.
Andrew had a wonderful work ethic as a welder at the former Mid State Electric. He then became a maintenance worker for Philipsburg-Osceola High School, until his retirement. He built his own home and loved building furniture for his family. He was also a distinguished archer and attended archery events around the country. He won many first place awards and was respected by his fellow sportsmen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Yannik and Anna Bearer; and six brothers, George, Michael, John, Peter, Stephen and Paul Hajzak.
In addition to his wife, Andrew is survived by three daughters, Judith Casher & her husband Roger of Philipsburg, PA, Joan Domanick & her husband Thomas of Philipsburg, PA and Janet Hajzak of Newport Beach, CA; four grandchildren, Warren Casher, Darren Casher, Jennifer Morris and Andrew J. Domanick; and five great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Eva, Katie, Drew and Nick.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family, with Pastor Gloria Montgomery officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, in Osceola Mills, PA.
