Marlene was employed throughout the years at many sewing factories in the area and retired from the Charles Navasky Streamline factory where she was well known for her ability to take on many tasks and keep the lines running smoothly as a floor lady.

Marlene had a zest for life like no other and giving up after her diagnosis was not an option. During her times of illness, she didn’t even want to close her eyes for one second for fear of missing out on something. Family and friends were fortunate enough to gather in March to celebrate 85 wonderful years of Marlene to let he know how much she was loved by all. She was a fantastic grandparent and cherished every second she had with her family. She loved to attend a good picnic or birthday party so she could be with her family. She enjoyed annual Christmas shopping and baking cookies where many hours were spent laughing from start to finish.
In her earlier years she enjoyed camping at Shawnee and Bald Eagle and loved to take her grandchildren fishing. She enjoyed traveling and always had another trip planned before she finished her current one. Over the past several years she had been to Florida, Massachusetts and went on a tour to Yellowstone National Park and visited several other states along the way. She had many adventures, but really cherished the cruise she was able to take with family which was also filled with laughter and many stories for her to tell.
Most recently she enjoyed playing BINGO with all of her friends several days a week at her apartment building. If she wasn’t occupied with BINGO you can be sure to find her in the “puzzle room” working hard to complete the latest puzzle with her best friend.
She will be remembered fondly for loving to hear a good story and her famous words as soon as she sat down in a vehicle no matter what the occasion “Where are we going to eat!?”
