Uncle Rich (uncle Richie to all us pesky nephews and his niece) was a loving uncle and a lot of fun. He always made us laugh a lot. I remember driving in the car with him and he would always be changing the lyrics to something funny. I have shared a few of these “changed” songs with Rainie, who also now has trouble remembering the real words. We have so many wonderful memories. My God bless you and keep you.

I want to send the family of Rich Tubo my sincere sympathy in your loss. I graduated with Rich from Moshannon Valley in 1965. His dad was our 8th. grade teacher in the Houtzdale school. I am so happy that many of us got together for our 50th. Class Reunion in 2015. I am sorry I could not make the viewing.
Possibly I have one little thing I would like to share with you that you might not me aware of. Rich was a very good trumpet player. He was one of the few guys in this area who could play a song just by listening to it. He did not need the music to read; which he could do also. When we were in school (probably about 10th grade) we formed a little dance band. We practiced a lot, but never got a chance to play out at a dance. But we all had a really good time. The band consisted of Rich on trumpet, Dave Haines (we practiced in his parent’s garage in Houtzdale) on clarinet, Jerry Kephart on guitar and me on drums.
Rich was just a good guy who I am happy I knew and proud to be his friend.

I’ve known Rich for many years, both Sue and I worked with him on the Skytop Mountain I-99 project.
We both have memories and stories of things that happened to Rich during the three years we all worked together. Like the time he got stuck waist deep in mud out on the project and had to be fork lifted out.
