So sorry to hear about your dad’s death. My Dad (Reese Miller)“Kelly” Miller was what he was was called by the guys….and “Fisher” was what your Dad was called by his best of friends…they worked together, hunted together, talked together, spent time on our porch or sitting on the grass on our yard and nearly every Friday night Dad went down to have a “few” at “Fishers”, went to our camp together for hunting season with a group of other guys during hunting season. They were alway laughing about something together too. The camp guys played a lot of tricks on each other at camp too over the years…but seemed they remained friends!!! When your Dad’s green Jeep pulled into our drive way, Dad would stop what ever he was doing and knew that would be they had something needed to figure out and always some laughter to be heard too! Frequently Dad would say…need to go down and ask Fisher about something…..Your Mom and Dad and our Mom and Dad would also get together to go out or play cards etc. What I remember most was no matter what or where, there was always kidding around and the laugher between them. They just seemed to be the best of buddies ..like brothers..and seemed always glad to to be there for each other no matter the time of day. Several years ago we were home visiting (We live in Tucson now…and stopped to talk to your Dad as he was sitting on the front porch he remembered us right away…even Tom as he had gone to camp with them one hunting season…great memory…..)we were there nearly and hour ….wow did he have a good memory…lots of talking and laughter…about Dad, camp, them going out together etc. Am so glad we were able to do that as was the last time we had seen him …he even called your Mom out to the porch so we were was able to talk to her too!
I will always cherish the memories I have of your Dad and your Mother and our parents together especially the ones that I have written above. Sending my thoughts and prayers you all and to your family God Bless. Maryann Miller Graue
