John L. Cowfer
John L. Cowfer, 90, of Osceola Mills, PA, died on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Heritage Ridge Senior Living at Windy Hill in Philipsburg, PA.
Born on July 8, 1934 in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Charles & Mae (Catherman) Cowfer. He married Mary L. Adams on November 15, 1952; she preceded him in death on April 25, 2000.
John was a member of St. Laurence Episcopal Church in Osceola Mills, PA where he was a former treasurer of the church and was a former member of the Umbria Cemetery Board where he had also been the treasurer.
He was a retired Postal Letter Carrier at the Osceola Mills Post Office and was a graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Gary Cowfer and an infant sister.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda C. Mignot of Philipsburg, PA; three grandchildren, Grant M. Mignot & his wife Vanesa of Morrisdale, PA, Katelyn E. Rebar & her husband Steven of Osceola Mills, PA, and Jessica L. Mignot of Philipsburg, PA; and one great-grandchild.
A private service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
There will be no visitation.
