Donald G. Cartwright, Sr.
Donald G. Cartwright, Sr., 85, of Philipsburg, PA and formerly of Osceola Mills and Houtzdale, died on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Windy Hill Village, PSL, in Philipsburg, PA.
Born on August 26, 1938, in Osceola Mills, PA, he was the son of the late William & Sarah (Johnson) Cartwright. He was married to Madeline K. Smith, who preceded him in death on November 23, 2007.
Donald was a member of the Moshannon Valley Community church in Ramey, PA.
He was a US Army Veteran.
Donald was retired from Cerro Metal Products of Bellefonte, PA. He was a 1957 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Lucas; and five brothers, William, Thomas, Robert, Richard and Ronald Cartwright.
Donald is survived by his companion, Sandy Pinto of Houtzdale, PA; two daughters, Tammy L Verbeck & her husband Frank of Brisbin, PA and Tracy L. Kepart & her husband Tim “Harv” of Brisbin, PA; a son, Donald G. Cartwright, Jr. of Houtzdale, PA; two sisters, Dorothy Fair of Monroeville, PA and Loretta Brinkman & her husband Ron of Murraysville, PA; six grandchildren, Megan Verbeck, Kayla Neff, Nathan Kephart, Donald Cartwright III, Jon Cartwright and Tiara Shaw; and ten great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills, PA. Rev. Kevin Howard will officiate. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brisbin, PA.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
