Stephen Sidorick, Sr.
Stephen Sidorick, Sr., 91, of Osceola Mills, PA died on Monday, September 19, 2016 at his home.
Born on February 5, 1925 in Decatur Township, PA, he was the son of the late Ignatius & Vera (Nicholas) Sidorick. He married Marion (Socoski) Sidorick on September 21, 1957 in Osceola Mills, PA; she survives at home.
Mr. Sidorick was a life long member of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Osceola Mills, PA. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II serving on the U.S.S. Rowe, a charter member of the V.F.W. Post #5020 Osceola Mills, a charter member of the Osceola Mills Honor Guard, a charter member of the American Legion Osceola Mills and a member of the Slovak Club in Osceola Mills. He graduated from the former Osceola Mills High School and was a retired corrections officer at SCI Rockview.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: six sisters, Marie Natalie, Katherine Hicks, Julia Zech, Ann Sidorick, Thressa Harris & Alexandra “Elsie” Sidorick and three brothers, John, Andrew, & Fred Sidorick.
He is survived by: four sons, Gregory Sidorick & his wife Bridget of Sandy Ridge, PA, Stephen Sidorick, Jr. & his wife Marian of West Decatur, PA, Mark Sidorick of Osceola Mills, PA and Nicholas Sidorick & his wife Maureen of Clearfield, PA; one sister, Barbara Danko & her husband Eugene of Osceola Mills, PA, and one brother Michael Sidorick of Osceola Mills, PA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Vladimir, Dimitri, Micah, Luke & Zoie Sidorick.
A Burial Service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Osceola Mills, PA; with Archimandrite Jacob Piruta officiating. Burial be at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, PA and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the church.
Panikhida will be held on Friday at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
