John Polachko
John Polachko, 87, of Osceola Mills, PA passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Altoona Regional Medical Center in Altoona, PA.
He was the son of the late John D. & Ellen (Cromie) Polachko, born on September 23, 1925 in Osceola Mills, PA. He married Florence M. (Brocail) Polachko on June 29, 1954 in Winchester, VA. She preceded him in deeath on November 11, 1994.
Mr. Polachko was of the Christian Faith. He was a Marine Corps Veteran of W.W.II. He was member of the VFW Post 5020 in Osceola Mills, PA, the American Legion in Osceola Mills, PA, and the LOOMoose #154 in Osceola Mills, PA.
He retired from CERRO in Bellefonte, PA as a machine operator and had worked for Don Brocail as a mason’s helper. Mr. Polachko was a 1942 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to his Parents and Wife, he was preceded in death by: two sisters, Ann and Helen; and five brothers, John, George, Pete Mike and Joe.
Mr. Polachko is survived by: a daughter, Kim McCully & her husband Robert of Ramey, PA; a son, John A. Polachko of Osceola Mills, PA; six grandchildren, Katie, Ashley & Erinn McCully, Angela, Mandy & John Polachko; and five great-grandchildren, Abigail, Emily, Jacob, Maeleigh and Ava.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his home, 706 Stone Street, Osceola Mills, PA. Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard on Saturday, at 10:00 on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA.
