Janice E. Thompson

Janice E. Thompson, 89, of Houtzdale, PA, died on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Mt. Laurel Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Clearfield, PA.

Born on August 5, 1936 in Houtzdale, PA, Janice was the daughter of the late Russell Hayward & Eliza (Wilks) Hayward. She married Leonard Thompson in Clearfield, PA. He preceded Janice in death.

Janice was a member of the Brisbin First Church of God.

She had retired from the former Philipsburg State General Hospital in housekeeping, in Philipsburg, PA.

Janice was a 1955 graduate from the Pitcarin High School.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Janice was preceded in death by a brother, Merle Hayward.

Janice is survived by two sons, David Legrand & his companion, Cynthia Church of Houtzdale, PA, and Len Thompson & his wife Rebecca of  TX.

A sister, Myrna Kline of Houtzdale, PA; a granddaughter, Jaslin Thompson; and a sister-in-law Sandra Hayward of Houtzdale, PA.

A funeral will take place  Saturday May 2, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brisbin First Church of God. Pastor Dale Stoope will officate.

Interment will be at IOOF Cemetery in Brisbin, PA.
