G. Marlene Sharpless

G. Marlene Sharpless, 90, of Philipsburg, PA, formerly of Osceola Mills, PA, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Heritage Ridge Senior Living at Windy Hill, Philipsburg, PA on Monday, August 24, 2026.

Born on September 10, 1935 in Osceola Mills, PA, Marlene was the daughter of the late James A. Garvey & E. Grace (Sankey) Garvey.

Marlene was a member of the Morningstar Fellowship Church in Osceola Mills, PA.

She was a retired Seamstress for Charles Navasky & Co.

In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Nevling, Elaine Hernandez, and Carol Hand; and two sister-in-laws, Linda Garvey and Doretta Garvey.

Marlene is survived by a daughter, Kathy Shimmel & her husband, John of Osceola Mills, PA; two sons, John Lukens & his wife Laura of Osceola Mills, PA, and Michael Lukens & his wife Bernadette Muscat of Fresno, CA; three brothers, James “Bud” Garvey & his wife Nancy of Fairhope, PA, Robert Garvey of Philipsburg, PA, and George Garvey of Osceola Mills, PA; three grandchildren, Mike Shimmel & his wife Laura, Christian Lukens & his wife Jenna, and Jessica Morgan & her husband Damien; and five great-grandchildren, Michael Shimmel, Matthew Shimmel, Natalie Morgan, Jayden Morgan, and Jackson Morgan.

Private services will be held at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, Osceola Mills. Pastor Roy Hampton will officiate.

Interment will be at Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
