Howard L. Root

Howard L. Root, 70, of Osceola Mills, PA died on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at his home.

Born on September 20, 1954, in Madera, PA, Howard was the son of the late George “Burt” Root * Alice (Stonebraker) Root. He married Paula A. (Pollick) Root on June 22, 1990 in Kylertown, PA. She survives at home.

Howard was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a construction worker.

Howard was a 1972 graduate from Mo Valley High School.

In addition to his wife, Howard is survived by a daughter, Stephanie L. Twoey & her husband Nathanael of Osceola Mills, PA; four sisters, Donna Aylward & her husband Jim of Bradford, PA, Daisy Mosley of Houtzdale, PA, Elaine Owens & her husband Mike of Detroit, MI, and Pamela Hull of Mansfield, OH; two brothers, David Root of Brisbin, PA, and Jeffrey Root of Bradford, PA; three grandchildren, Nathanael Twoey Jr., Nicholas Twoey, and Christopher Twoey; two great-grandchildren, Emilia Twoey and Maverick Howard Twoey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandy McDonald and Cathy Roberts; and two brothers, Mark Root and George Root Jr.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard on Saturday, August 30 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC at 701 Lingle St. Osceola Mills, PA 16666.

Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. noon until the time of the funeral at the funeral home.
