Edith M. “Duffy” Patterson

Edith M. “Duffy” Patterson, 83, of Osceola Mills, PA, died on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.

Born on January 9, 1943, in Osceola Mills, PA, Duffy was the daughter of the late Robert Bruce Dixon & Edna M. (Oswalt) Dixon. She married Blaine R. Patterson, Sr. on March 20, 1965 at the former Ohio United Methodist Church. He survives at home.

Duffy was a member of the Coal Run C & MA Church.

She was a retired LPN at Windy Hill.

Duffy was a 1961 graduate from P.O. High School.

In addition to her parents, Duffy was preceded in death by two sons, Chad Allen Patterson, and Blaine R. Patterson, Jr.; a sister, Jane Scaife; six brothers, Gerald “Jerry”, Frank, Calvin “Bud”, Willard “Clyde”, Blair, and Terry Dixon; and a brother-in-law, Richard Scaife.

In addition to her husband, Duffy is survived by a sister, Irene Williams & her husband Will “Butch” of Port Matilda, PA; two brothers, Walter “Buddy” Dixon & his wife Alice of Boalsburg, PA, and Dale Dixon & his wife Cindy of Bellefonte, PA; three grandchildren, Megan Holmes, Savannah Patterson, and Thomas Patterson; and five sister-in-laws, Doris Reese, Karen Dixon, Vickie Dixon, Peggy Dixon, and Darria Dixon.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC – 701 Lingle St. Osceola Mills, PA 16666. Rev. James Evilsizor will officiate.

Interment will be at Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the funeral home.
