I had the privilege of meeting Derek at Flatrun Speedway with his grandfather, Dick Jones Derek and I spent a lot of time on the track together racing around, trying to teach him some racing moves and gave him advice on corner entry and corner exit but for him being in a restricted class and me in the adult class. He sure was hard to pass. It even got to the point where I would bribe him with hot wheels lol. I always enjoyed spending time with him he was a great kid . Derek u will be missed.
