Joan M. Graffius

Joan M. Graffius, 92, of New Brighton, PA formerly of Houtzdale, PA died on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at UPMC Passavant.

Born on October 29, 1932, Joan was the daughter of the late Kenneth Maines & Elizabeth (Quick) Maines.

Joan was a member of the Centre United Methodist Church in Osceola Mills, PA.

She was a retired Employment Counselor for the Florida Employment Office.

Joan was a 1950 graduate from the former Philipsburg High School and she had an associates degree from Penn State University.

Joan had a caring and fun-loving spirit that endeared her to friends and family. She was musically inclined and she was first on her feet for singing and dancing. Her smile and sense of fun will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Walls and William Walls.

Joan is survived by three sisters, Linda Gallagher of New Brighton, PA, Bonnie Watt of Trafford, PA, and Sharon Frano (Gordon) or Brockway, PA; and a brother, Andrew Maines (Carol) of Philipsburg, PA.

A private graveside service will be held at the Centre Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA at the convenience of the family.

Burial will follow at the Cemetery.

At Joan’s request, there will be no visitation.
