I will miss talking to Bill at the book sales at Holt library. I lived across the street and down a couple houses. We all used the intersection in front of the Finks house on Second street for many street games.

I’m very sorry to learn of Bill’s passing. I remember him as a quiet, gentle and kind man who took pride in his work, his family, his home, and his community. Though he and I haven’t crossed paths very often since I was young, his goodness and his example continue to have a positive, formative effect on me. Heartfelt condolences to Doris and his family.

I served for several years in the reserves in Altoona during the 1980’s he was such a genuinely kind and caring person. I’m sure he will be missing and admired. Following seas and fair winds.
