Robert L. Frantz, Sr.

Robert L. Frantz, Sr., 83, of Hawk Run, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at
his residence.Robert was born on March 24, 1941, in Morrisdale, a son of the late John
Howard and Mildred (Smith) Frantz.Early in his working career, Robert was employed at the General Cigar plant formerly located in (North) Philipsburg. He was then employed for most of his career with Berg Electronics, formerly located in Clearfield, until his retirement.

Following his service with the Marine Corps, he continued serving his country  with the Army National Guard, B Company 728, Clearfield, Pa, until his retirement.  Robert was a member of St. Laurence Episcopal Church, Osceola Mills. He was an active member and Past-Commander of the Louis Jenkins VFW, Post #3450, the Military Order of the Cootie (the Honor Degree of the VFW), Pup Tent #58, and the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard, all of Philipsburg.

Robert was married on October 3, 1964, at the St. Laurence Episcopal Church, Osceola Mills, to the former Ruth  E. Nida, who survives at home.He is also survived by a daughter, Shirley Ann Ruggiero and her husband, Ronald J., of Philipsburg; two sons, Robert L. Frantz, Jr., of Morrisdale and Scott M. Frantz, and his wife, Amy E., of Osceola Mills; six grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members.

Robert was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Seprish, Jean Schmoke and Shirley Ann Frantz; one brother, John Frantz; and a step-mother, Maxine Frantz, in addition to his parents.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11 am, at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle Street, Osceola Mills, with Rev. Fr. Tim Kroh, officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 pm and on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service.

Interment will be in Umbria Cemetery, Osceola Mills.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.
