Joyce A. “Sonny” Bair

Joyce A. “Sonny” Bair, 99, of Tyrone, PA and formerly of  Bellefonte, PA, died on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Cedarwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Tyrone, PA.

Born on May 3, 1924, in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Joyce E. & Ruth (Andrews) Bair.  He married Marian P. Copeland on June 1, 1946 in Philipsburg, PA; she preceded him in death on September 20, 2012.

Joyce was of the United Methodist Faith, a member of Moshannon Valley Lodge #391 F & A M in Philipsburg, PA, Altoona Consistory, Jaffa Shrine in Altoona, PA, and a Life Member of Reliance Fire Co.

He was retired from Printing Services at Penn State University.  And he was a 1942 graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Joyce is survived by a daughter, Brenda Fike & her husband John of State College, PA; two sons, Timothy D. Bair of Lock Haven, PA and Thomas A. Bair & his wife Christine of Bellefonte, PA; five grandchildren, John, Andrea, Krista, Kyle and Dustin; and ten great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be at Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg, PA.
