Jacob R. Yarger
Jacob R. Yarger, 89, of (Sanborn) Houtzdale, PA died on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield, PA.
Born on November 20, 1929 in Woodward Township, PA, he was the son of the late Alton J. and Josephine R. (Wolfe) Yarger. He married Edith J. (Rothrock) Yarger on November 22, 1957 in Clearfield, PA: she preceded him in death on December, 4, 2018.
He was a member of the Sanborn Church of God.
Jacob was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, 
a member of the Sanborn Grange and the American Legion Post #591 in Houtzdale, PA. He was retired from Central PA Coal in Glen Richey, PA.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by: one son, Jacob R. “Sonny” Yarger.
He is survived by: two daughters, Dawn Shimmel & her husband Scott of Philipsburg, PA and Marla Ford & her husband Glenn of (Sanborn) Houtzdale, PA; one son, Mitchell A. Yarger & his wife Tammy of Lititz, PA; two sisters, Hazel Baughman of (Sanborn) Houtzdale, PA and Beverly Peterson of Moon Township, PA; one brother, Ronald Yarger & his wife Judy of Osceola Mills, PA; five grandchildren, Kylie Dixon & her husband Kyle, Jacob Waslosky, Jenna Yarger, Emily Yarger, and Heather Shimmel; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Garrett Dixon.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heath Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA: with Rev. Lee Kline officiating. Burial will be at the Sanborn Cemetery (Sanborn) Houtzdale, PA.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Houtzdale American Legion Honor Guard.
