JoAnn E. Whalen
JoAnn E. Whalen, 88, of Philipsburg, PA died on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Embassy of Hearthside in State College, PA.
Born on September 2, 1934, in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Pearl (Carr) Desso. She married William M. Whalen on May 29, 1954, in Osceola Mills, PA; he preceded her in death on November 22, 2007.
She was a member of Kingdon Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
JoAnn was a graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School and attended Temple University School of Nursing.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Patrick and Shawn Whalen and an infant brother, Adam.
JoAnn is survived by, two daughters, Cynthia A. Kifer of Philipsburg, PA and Wynter M. Garcia of Osceola Mills, PA; a son, Bill Whalen of Williamsport, PA; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Autumn, Heather, Marijo, Kala, Alex, Samantha, Celena and Ryder; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
There will be no visitation or funeral service.
