Jack F. Webster
Jack F. Webster, 85, of Osceola Mills, PA passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in Hollidaysburg, PA.
He was the son of the late Freeman & Mabel (Wertz) Webster, born on November 15, 1927 in Osceola Mills, PA. He was married to Barbara E. (Tibbetts) Webster on June 19, 1947 in Osceola Mills, PA. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2000.
Mr. Webster was a Navy Veteran of WWII, and a member of the VFW Post #5020 in Osceola Mills, PA.
He served as Decatur Township tax collector for 26 years and had previously been a barber in Philipsburg and Osceola Mills, PA. He was a 1945 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
Jack was an avid fly fisherman and loved hunting.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rodger Webster.
Mr. Webster is survived by: a daughter, Stacey L. Soltis & her husband James of Osceola Mills, PA; a sister Vanetta Webster Irwin & her husband Jack who was his hunting & fishing buddy, of Osceola Mills, PA; two grandchildren, Samantha Soltis & Ryan Soltis; and several nephews.
At Jack’s request, funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
There will be no public visitation.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
