Kenneth M. Vancas
Kenneth M. Vancas, 66, of Osceola Mills, PA died on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at his home.
Born on October 29, 1951 in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Michael & Catherine (Waslosky) Vancas.
He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg, PA.
Ken was a school teacher for the Philpsburg Osceola School District retiring in 2006. He was a 1969 graduate of the Moshannon Valley High School and graduated from Bloomsburg State College in 1972 where he played college football. He was a member of the BPOElks #1173 in Philipsburg, PA, the LOOMoose #154 in Osceola Mills, PA and he managed the Clear-Centre Pool for many years.
He enjoyed watching PSU sports, Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and even the Pirates in his man cave. He loved Madeline and his grandchildren very much, loved golfing, fishing, walking and working outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew T. Vancas.
Along with his companion Lourie Sparks, he is survived by: one daughter, Kelly Hazelton & her husband Justin of Philipsburg, PA; one step daughter, Madeline Sparks at home; one son, Kristopher Vancas & his wife Tina of Pleasant Gap, PA; one sister, Diane Holencik & her husband Thomas of Ramey, PA; one brother, Edward Vancas & his wife Mary of Osceola Mills, PA; and four grandchildren, Peyton Vancas, Alexis Franks, Reese Hazelton and Hank Hazelton.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg, PA with Rev. John Gibbons celebrant. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Brisbin, PA.
There will be no public visitation.
