Catherine A. “Cathy” Updike
Catherine Updike, 67, of Osceola Mills, PA died on Friday, April 14, 2023, Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.
Born on May 21, 1955, in Houtzdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jess & Genevieve I. (Grove) Howe. She married Frank L. Updike on May 1, 1971, in Osceola Mills, PA; he preceded her in death on October 9, 2021
Cathy was of the Christian Faith. She was a member of the Mountain Top Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary in Sandy Ridge, PA.
She was employed as a Home Health Care Giver.
Cathy enjoyed crafting, baking, WWE Wrestling, spending time with family and drinking at the hen house.
In addition to her parents and husband, Cathy was preceded in death by an infant son, Frank Updike, Jr.; a sister, Margaret Kephart; and a brother Jesse Howe.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy L. Moore & her husband Mickey of Clearfield, PA; a son, Michael F. Updike & his wife Christina of Osceola Mills, PA; three sisters, Delores Litzinger of Clearfield, PA, Ruby Clark & her husband Raymond of Philipsburg, PA, and Sarah Conaway & her husband James of Milesburg, PA; three brothers, William Howe & his wife Gloria of Brisbin, PA, Russell Howe & his wife Cherie of Morann, PA, and Walter Howe & his wife Amy of Osceola Mills, PA; and a grandchild, Bryson Updike.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills, PA. Pastor Chris Gardner will officiate. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
