Rhea J. Thompson
Rhea J. Thompson, 89, of Osceola Mills, died Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
Rhea was born on October 29, 1931, in Spruce Creek, a daughter of the late William and Sarah (Dixon) Grove.
Rhea was employed as a wrapper for the former (North) Philipsburg General Cigar plant. She was also employed with the Piper Aviation facility formerly located in Quehanna.
Rhea was married on March 29, 1947, in Osceola Mills, to Lee W. Thompson, who preceded her in death on July 31, 2016.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Louise Thompson; two sons, Robert Charles Thompson and Walter Lee Thompson; one granddaughter, Michelle Lee Thompson; one son-in-law, Roy Quick; one sister, Genevieve I. Howe; and three brothers: Fern, Frank and Chester Grove.
She is survived by two daughters, Alice Quick, of Morrisdale and Patricia Jury, of Osceola Mills; four sons: William E. Thompson and his wife, Cindy Thompson, of Munson, David L. Thompson and his wife, Debra Thompson, of Osceola Mills, Kenneth R. Thompson, of Morrisdale and Todd A. Thompson and his wife, Brittany Thompson, of Grampian; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other extended family members.
She was the last of her generation.
Her favorite hobbies and pastimes included tending to her flowers, doing all kinds of crafts, and raising fish and birds.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 2 pm, at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle Street, Osceola Mills, with Pastor Gloria Montgomery, officiating.
A visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 1 pm until the time of the service.
Interment will be in Umbria Cemetery, Osceola Mills.
