Ronald Lee Stockley
Ronald Lee Stockley, 78, of (Twigg Settlement) RD Philipsburg, died Sunday, July 9, 2023, from complications due to his exposure to Agent Orange during his military service in Vietnam.
Ronald was born on August 15, 1944, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Merle and Ethel (Braund) Stockley.
He was a 1962 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. He was also a graduate of the Williamsport Technical Institute / Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport, Pa.
Ronald was a US Navy Veteran and served two tours during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Nanty Glo American Legion, Post 6129 and the Navy Seabee Veterans of America, Island X-6, Wilmington, Massachusetts.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Philipsburg.
Ronald was employed throughout his working career as a diesel mechanic. He retired from W.W. Engine, Kylertown, Pa.
Ronald was known for his mechanical knowledge. He had the ability to fix anything and lived his faith through his generosity to others.
Ronald was married on August 8, 1970, in Altoona, to the former Margaret Rose Creighton, who preceded him in death on October 18, 2017.
He is survived by two daughters, Shari Stockley, of Philipsburg and Lisa Stockley-Patalune and her husband, Aaron Patalune, of Portage; a son, Ronald Christopher Stockley and his companion, Carri Ranefeldt, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; nine grandchildren: Levi, Sophia and Tucker Stockley; Matthew and Jonathan Thompson; Bailey, Jackson, Casey and Shannon Patalune; two brothers, Merle F. Stockley, Jr., of Rochester, New York and Russel L. Stockley, of Tennessee; and numerous other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle Street, Osceola Mills, on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 11 am, with Pastor Samantha McElwee, officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 6 to 8 pm; and on Thursday, from 10 am until the time of the funeral service.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
