Shirley M. Socoski
Shirley M. Socoski, 76, of Osceola Mills, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.
She was the daughter of the late Stanley & Anna (Chutko) Rinskey, born on March 3, 1937 in Osceola Mills, PA. She married John Socoski, Sr. on September 12, 1957 in Osceola Mills, PA. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1994.
She was a member of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Osceola Mills, PA.
Shirley and her husband John were the owners of the former Sentral Propane in Philipsburg, PA. She graduated valedictorian from the former Osceola Mills High School class of 1955. She also graduated from the Empire Beauty School in State College, PA.
She is survived by: two daughters, Tamara Socoski of West Decatur, PA and Christina Harmon, of Augusta, GA; five sons: John Socoski, Jr. & his wife Karen of Osceola Mills, PA, Nicholas Socoski of Frenchville, PA, Mark Socoski of Osceola Mills, PA, Matthew Socoski of Osceola Mills, PA, Nathanial Socoski & his wife Rebecka of Philipsburg, PA; a sister, Laura Cuppett of Loris, SC; and five grandchildren,John Socoski, III, Adriana Socoski, Charity Harmon, Morgan Socoski and Dorian Socoski.
A Burial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Osceola Mills, PA, with Archimandrite Jacob Piruta officiating. Burial will be at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA.
A Panikhida will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
