Edwin E. Snyder
Edwin E. Snyder of Allport, PA and formerly of Osceola Mills, PA was called home to the Lord at his residence on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Born in Carrolltown, PA he was the son of the late Earl D. and Catherine J. (Vermeulin) Snyder.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Council #8701 Morrisdale and a 4th. Degree member of St. John Paul II Assembly #952, Houtzdale, where he was a member of the Color Corps. He was also a member of the Rembrandt Sportsmans Club in St. Benedict.
He was the owner and operator of the former Snyder Electrical Contracting of Osceola Mills for over forty years. He had also worked as a foreman with the former Rushton Mining Company in Osceola Mills, an electrician with Charles Navasky and Company in Philipsburg, and later as an electrician with the former Philipsburg Area Hospital from which he retired. He was a 1963 graduate of the Cambria Heights High School in Patton, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucinda “Cindy” Straw and Charlotte Sponsky.
He is survived by: his fiancée, Shirley Josefik; one daughter, Kimberly A. Kohler and her husband James of Bethel Park, PA; one son, Mark Snyder of South Fork, PA; two sisters, Eileen Fox and her husband James of St. Boniface, PA and Mary Kay Gallagher and her husband Thomas of Carrolltown, PA; one brother, William Snyder of Coalport, PA; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA. Burial will be at St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery in Carrolltown, PA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 26, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA.
Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
