Donald E. Smith, Jr., 68, of Houtzdale, PA died on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born on January 4, 1947 in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Donald E. Smith Sr. & Faye (Uncles) Smith. He married Sara J. (Fleck) Smith on August 18, 1968 in West Decatur, PA; she preceded him in death on January 12, 2008.
Mr. Smith was of the Christian Faith. He was a member of the Mosquito Creek Club. He was retired from Diehl Contracting and was a graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by: a son, Donald M. Smith; and a son-in-law, Sean P. Murphy.
Mr. Smith is survived by: two daughters, Connie L. Demko & her husband John of Morann, PA and Crystal L. Diehl & her husband Scott of Coalport, PA; a son, Todd S. Smith & his companion Kim of Houtzdale, PA; a sister, Margaret Harvey & her husband John of Drifting, PA; thirteen grandchildren, Courtney Callahan, Brittney Smith, Kyrstie Murphy, Kelsie Murphy, Kristin Murphy, Keshia Smith, Destiny Smith, Justine Smith, Candice Diehl, Coollette Diehl, Corrin Diehl, Carissa Chandler, and Carlie Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Riley, Noah and Carter.
The Funeral Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Osceola Mills, PA. Burial will be at the Bradford Cemetery in Woodland, PA.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
