Raymond W. Sharpless
Raymond W. Sharpless, 95, of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in Hollidaysburg, PA died on Saturday May 26, 2018 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in Hollidaysburg, PA. He was formerly of Philipsburg, Tyrone and Altoona.
Born on October 6, 1922 in Sandy Ridge, PA, he was the son of the late Whitfield E. and Emma (Warrender) Sharpless.
He was of the Christian Faith.
Raymond was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a life time member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Club of Tyrone, PA. 
He was a retired custodian, self employed roofer and the former owner of the Getts Tin Shop in Tyrone, PA.
He is survived by: three daughters, JoAnn Shaffor of Philipsburg, PA, Sally J. McConaughey & her husband Mack of Southington, OH and Tammy Johnson & her husband Bill of Philipsburg, PA; one son Larry R. Sharpless & his wife Bonnie of Clearfield, PA; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: three wives; five sisters, Emma, Elizabeth, Ruth, Marietta and Jean; and four brothers, Howard, Charles, Edward and Glenn.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family and there will be no visitation.
Burial will be at the Centre Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
