Lynn A. Sharpless Sr.
Lynn A. Sharpless Sr., 75, of Sandy Ridge, PA died on Thursday December 19, 2013 at his home. He was the son of the late James W. & Florence (Crawford) Sharpless, born on September 9, 1938 in Sandy Ridge, PA. He married Doris M. (Anderson) Sharpless on October 21, 1961 in Winchester, VA. She survives him at home.
Mr. Sharpless was a member of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church in Sandy Ridge, PA and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from Austin Powder as a location manager, and a 1956 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother John Sharpless.
Along with his wife he is survived by: one daughter Cheryl Powell of Coudersport, PA; one son Lynn A. Sharpless Jr. and his wife Heather of Osceola Mills, PA; one sister Marcella Manguson of Sandy Ridge, PA; a brother, Melvin Sharpless and his wife Margaret of Sandy Ridge, PA; two grandchildren, Thomas Powell & Natalie Sharpless; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA, with Pastor Mark Thumma officiating. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brisbin, PA.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
