John W. Reese
John W. Reese, 88, of Sandy Ridge, PA died on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, Altoona, PA.
Born on September 21, 1929 in Sandy Ridge, PA, he was the son of the late Cloyd D. & Mercedes (Reichard) Reese. He married Mary Patricia (Good) Reese on February 11, 1956 in Sandy Ridge, PA: she preceded him in death on November 10, 1997.
John was a member of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church in Sandy Ridge, PA.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, recipient of the Purple Heart, retired from Penn State University as 
an electrical technician and graduated from the former Philipsburg High School.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Lewis Reese, Paul (Mick) Reese, Henry Reese and an infant brother.
He is survived by: one daughter, Jennifer Shelton & her husband Jason of Jackson, MS; two sons, John P.Reese & his wife Shelley of Sandy Ridge, PA and George W. Reese & his wife Patricia of Sandy Ridge, PA; three sisters, Joan Cowher & her husband Richard of Sandy Ridge, PA, Janet Bezilla & her husband Donald of Osceola Mills, PA and Teresa Elmendorf of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren, Katie Lyn Reese & her companion Josh Fortney, Patrick Reese, Mary Reese, Kyle Reese, Jordan Shelton and Sidney Reese; and one great-grandson Zane Fortney.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, PA: with Pastor Beth Stutler officiating. Burial will be at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Philipsburg, PA.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard at the cemetery.
