Kathy M. Rebar
Kathy M Rebar 61 of Houtzdale passed away on May 6th 2021 at UPMC Altoona surrounded by her family.
Born on March 17th 1960 in Philipsburg, PA to Patricia (Pastir) Sankey of Philipsburg and the late Thomas Sankey of Houtzdale.
Kathy was a graduate of Moshannon Valley High School class of 1978
On April 29th, 1978 she wed David A. Rebar at St.Marys Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey.
Mrs. Rebar was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Houtzdale
She worked at Glendale Elementary School as a Paraprofessional. She was always very passionate about her line of work. She worked with the specially challenged, adults and children most of her life.
Kathy was a devoted Mother and Grandmother and family meant everything to her. She always wore a smile on her face and had a laugh that was contagious. She also had a passion for baking.
She is survived by her husband David A. Rebar of Houtzdale. Three children David Adam Rebar and wife April of Manchester, Jody Rebar of Russellville, KY and Jessica Rebar of Brisbin.
Four grandchildren Emma, Valerie, Brendon and Ava. Four siblings Sheri Kukla and husband James of Philipsburg ,Tommy Sankey and wife Lori of Salvo, NC, Chris Sankey of Houtzdale and Michael Sankey of Spotsylvania ,VA. Also several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rebar was preceeded in death by her father Thomas L. Sankey and her inlaws Andrew and June Rebar all of Houtzdale.
A Requiem Service with Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Holly Trinity Episcopal Church, 222 Brisbin St., Houtzdale, PA; with Rev. Father William Ellis as celebrant. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held on Wednsday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, in Osceola Mills, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kathy’s memory to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 222 Brisbin St., Houtzdale, PA 16651.
