Harrison “Harry” Price, Jr.
Harrison “Harry” Price Jr, 81, of Sandy Ridge, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at his home. He was born August 2, 1941, in Woodland, PA as the first of nine children to the Rev. Harrison Price and Elsie Smeal who preceded him in death.
As the son of a preacher, Harry moved throughout Central PA in his youth living in Mutton Hollow, Woodland, Mahaffey, and Port Matilda. He attended Bald Eagle High, transferring to Clearfield High School for his Senior year where he graduated in 1959. He was an avid athlete who played Football and Baseball. His love for sports continued after High School as one of the original founders of the Four Leaf Clover baseball league and later coach of the Cubs in the PO Little League.
Harry retired from the PA Air National Guard’s 112th Tactical Control Flight, in 2001 as a Master Sergeant after 37 years and 7 months of service. He proudly served the PA Air National Guard as both a full-time civilian Mobility Specialist and Guardsman where he was known as a dedicated worker and a rock of consistency that everyone in the squadron loved and counted on.
Harry had an unwavering faith and devotion to his church, humbly serving St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for more than fifty years as a certified Lay Speaker, Sunday School superintendent, Men’s Bible Class teacher, and caretaker.
Harry is survived by his beloved wife of more than 55 years, Edna (Schindler) Price, his children Harrison Price III of Harrisburg and Stephanie Scarborough of Dahlonega, GA, her spouse Lisa Scarborough and his grandchildren Harold “Hal” Scarborough, Jacob Harrison Scarborough, Elliot Rowan Scarborough, Katie Price, and Tyler Price, and his siblings Thelma Stratton, Sandra Lansberry, Elsie Smith, Patricia Price, Teri Beaston, Larry Price, Garry Price, and Robin Wilson.
Those who knew Harry feel the overwhelming loss of their “oasis of serenity” and take solace in his legacy of faithful service, strength, and love.
Services are being held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Sandy Ridge, PA on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 11am, with Pastor Gloria Montgomery officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA
