Shawn M. Owens
Shawn M. Owens, 57, of Shawville, PA died on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
Born on May 26, 1962 in Clearfield, PA he was the son of the late Robert H. Owens and Amelia (Vonchet) Ogden. He married Tammie (Moita) Owens on December 24, 2013 in Clearfield, PA: she survives at home.
Shawn was the owner operator of Shawn Towing. He was the Deputy Chief of the LeContes Mills Fire Company and was a 1980 graduate of the Clearfield High School. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved to watch elk and tinker in the garage. He was a firefighter for forty-four years at BJW, Goshen and Lecontes Mills fire companies and an avid race car driver #77.
In addition to his wife he is survived by: one daughter, Amanda Stiner & her husband Kelly of Osceola Mills, PA; three sons, Sean Moita & his wife Lisseth of Falls Church, VA, Mark Moita of Falls Church VA and Christopher Moita of Falls Church, VA; two sisters, Anita Poust & her husband Richard “Rick” of Williamsport, PA and Lisa Picard and her companion Dean Auen of Frenchville, PA; three brothers, Dean Owens of Clearfield, PA, Brian Owens of Clearfield, PA and Mike Owens & his wife Carol of Clearfield, PA; three grandchildren, Kelcey Moita, Alexzander Moita and Henslee Stiner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the LeContes Mills Fire Hall in LeContes Mills, PA. Burial will be at the Congress Hill Cemetery in LeContes Mills, PA.
