Raymond J. “Muskie” Moskel
Raymond J. “Muskie” Moskel, 76, of Osecola Mills, PA died on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.
Born on April 3, 1939 in Morann, PA, he was the son of the late Metro & Anna (Patkaltski) Moskel. His wife, Jane M. (Gezymalla) Moskel survives at home.
Mr. Moskel was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA. He was an Army Veteran assigned to Co. C. 3rd Battilion. He was a 3rd. degree member of council #2250 Knights of Columbus in Osceola Mills, PA, a life member of B.P.O.Elks #1173 in Philipsburg, PA, a member of the L.O.O.Moose lodge #327 in Houtzdale, PA and a member of the Morann Citizen’s Club.
He was retired from Cerro Copper and Brass in Bellefonte, PA and was a 1957 graduate of the former Madera High School.
Mr. Moskel was an avid hunter, loved working in the garden, enjoyed Polka Dancing and listening to the Polka Party, his “Second Job” was playing cards and he liked watching the Pirates on his sun porch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother, Richard Joseph Moskel; and a grand puppy, Mason.
Along with his wife, Mr. Moskel is survived by: two daughters, Barbara St. Louis of Houtzdale, PA and Paula Moskel of Osceola Mills, PA; two sons, James Moskel & his wife Nancy of Philipsburg, PA and Michael Moskel & his fiancee Bernadette Johnson of Philipsburg, PA; a brother, Robert Moskel & his wife Cecelia of Erie, PA; two grandchildren, Joshua and Caleb St. Louis; two step-grandchildren, Amy Clark and Jim Winters; two grand puppies, Kendra and Taylor; a sister-in-law, Janice Moskel of Virginia Beach, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Osceola Mills, PA, with Rev. Father Robert J. Horgas officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, PA.
The Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
