Samuel E. McKay
Samuel “Sam” E. McKay, 81, of Osceola Mills, PA died on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.
Born on April 16, 1940 in Mechanicsburg, PA he was the son of the late Samuel F. and Carol L. (McKissick) McKay. He married Gerry C. (Dunlap) McKay on February 26, 1962 in Woodbury, PA, she preceded him in death on September 13, 2011.
He was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church.
Sam was a member of the Osceola Mills Lodge #515 F & A M, a U. S. Army veteran where he was offered by his command in Germany an appointment to West Point, a member of the Osceola Mills Honor Guard and VFW Post 5020, He was a member of the VFW Post #5020, Osceola Mills, PA, the American Legion Post # 0313, Osceola Mills, PA and a member of the Gold Stripe Club. Sam was also a volunteer at the Osceola Mills Community Food Bank. He retired early as a transportation foreman at Peerless Transport Trucking Company of Clearfield, PA. He was a 1958 graduate from the former Osceola Mills High School and received training in HVAC.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by: two sisters, Nancy Smeal and Jeannie Thompson; and one brother, Mark “Nip” McKay.
He is survived by: four daughters, Colleen S. Rumberger & her husband Jim of Osceola Mills, PA, Shari Minarchick & her husband Michael of West Decatur, PA, Meri C. Pollick & her husband Brian of Osceola Mills, PA and Michelle Thompson & her husband Jon of Philipsburg, PA; on son, Scott McKay of Dallas Texas; one sister, Mary Wynne McKay & her companion Mahlon Casher of Houtzdale, PA; two brothers, David McKay & his wife Linda of Deltona, FL and Michael “Tuck” McKay & his wife Darlene of Pennfield, PA. He is also survived by: five grandchildren, Michael, Dustin, Brian, Jr., Aleksa and Presley; and four great-grandchildren Aidan, Jaxen, Nico and Tayliana.
Services will be held at the conveniance of the family.
A public commemoration to be announced at a later date in his memory of “The General” as he is known by the Patriot Streetfighter Nation, a worldwide following of his son’s media operation.
