Elaine Matthis
Elaine Matthis, 92 of Osceola Mills, PA died on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Ridgeview Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville, PA.
Born on December 19, 1929 in Osceola Mills, PA she was the daughter of the late James H. and Ida (Osewalt) Brown. She married her first husband William Webster who preceded her in death on May 6, 1977. Her second husband was William E. Matthis who preceded her in death on February 25, 2010.
She was of the Christian Faith.
Elaine was retired from General Electric quality control in Euclid, OH and she was a 1949 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by: three brothers, James R. Brown, Norman R. Brown, Sr. and William Nixon; one sister, Mildred Nixon Glasson; one grandson, John Paul Ruggiero; and one step-son, Rev. Martin Matthis.
She is survived by: one daughter, Gail L. Ruggiero & her husband John of Lanse, PA; step-children, Marc Matthis & his wife Donna of Willoughby, OH and David Matthis of Mentor, OH; sisters, Lorraine Gill of FL and Jean Henry of Osceola Mills, PA; three grandchildren, Stephanie Steele & her husband Tom, Mark Ruggiero & his wife Tracy and Melissa Cantalano & her companion Adam; five great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
